Conductor of the Galenical Chamber Orchestra
"Your enthusiasm and musical talent made it an absolute pleasure to have you lead our rehearsals."
From 2019 to 2020, I conducted the Galenical Chamber Orchestra, an ensemble of Bristol University medical students. We performed a lively and varied repertoire
of classical, film and pop music and enjoy collaborating with the Galenical Chamber Choir for joint concerts too.
This was a relaxed orchestra, with a good balance between thorough rehearsal and having a good laugh; having such a rapport with an ensemble is important to me.
Our repertoire together included Dvorak’s New World Symphony, Copland’s Appalachian Spring, a Mary Poppins Suite and Waldteufel’s Skater’s Waltz. I worked to arrange
this music for the variety of instrumentalists we had, which developed my repertoire knowledge and orchestration skills.
